Yacht Point is the only Recognised RYA Training Centre in Barcelona.
The RYA (Royal Yacht Association) is a UK organization of recognized international prestige that offers all courses related to the sailing world.
Some of the advantages of our courses are:
- Obtaining an RYA certification that is internationally recognized.
- Learning to sail, improve your technique and your nautical vocabulary in English.
- Providing a head start to be able to work in the Commonwealth and English flag vessels.
The courses that we offer in our RYA Training Centre are the following:
Introductory course to sailing, with international recognition.
Pre-course experience: None.
Ability after course: Able to steer the boat, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the day to day tasks & routines.
Day Skipper (non-tidal) and International Certificate of Competence. A practical course for aspiring skippers with some yachting experience, as well as some basic navigation and sailing skills.
Pre-course experience: 5 days , 100 miles, 4 night hours.
Ability after course: Skipper a small yacht in familiar waters during daylight time.
A practical course designed for beginners and those who would like to become active crew members rather than just passengers. Experience living on board and getting to know the boat fully.
Pre-course experience: 15 days, 2 days as skipper, 300 miles, 8 night hours.
Ability after course: Knowledge, if not the experience, to become a Yachtmaster. Become a skipper on coastal passages during daytime and nightime.
A practical course offering advanced skippering techniques for yachtsmen and women with considerable knowledge in sailing and navigation, wanting to undertake coastal passages by day and night. Like the Day Skipper course, this course consists of skippered passages in a variety of situations.
Pre-course experience: 30 days, 2 as skipper, 800 miles, 12 night hours.
Ability after course: Knowledge, if not the experience, to become a Yachtmaster
Skipper a cruising yacht on any passage in which the yacht won’t be more than 150 miles from harbor.
Pre-course experience: 50 days, 5 as skipper, 2500 miles, 5 passages over 60 miles, 2 at night and 2 skipper.
